Programs Overview
We offer several ways to get involved with our horses at Summit Valley Horse Center, to deepen your understanding of horses, learn how to communicate with them, and simply experience the delight that comes by being in their presence. Our programs range from those that are perfect for weekend visitors to Summit County to those that are geared towards people who spend the whole summer here and want to steadily build deeper horsemanship skills and help us train our foster horses.
Youth Programs
These programs are designed specifically for children ages 4 – 15 who have little or no previous experience with horses. In these programs we use our tame mini-horses and ponies because they are more “child sized” and less intimidating to smaller people. Pony Posse and Meet the Minis programs are free to members with suggested donations for non members.

Custom Programs Available to Community/Corporate Groups
We have a long history of partnering with different community organizations to custom design learning experiences that incorporate our horses into their organization’s learning objectives. In these programs we always use our tame horses – mini’s, ponies, and full sized horses. Youth oriented partners we’ve worked with include Keystone Science School, the Girl Scouts, Summit County Schools, and 4-H.
We also can design leadership and team development programs for groups and corporations who wish to use our horses and venue as part of the overall learning and development experience you are seeking to create. Costs are negotiated on a per diem basis. Please click the group Inquiries button below.
